Jakkie Yurchevich knew at a young age that she wanted to help people achieve their physical goals and become a physiotherapist. Growing up dancing in Calgary she became fascinated with the movement of the human body and this interest developed further through the study of Sports Medicine.
Jakkie graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction in 2009 before attending the University of Alberta to complete her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. Since graduating in 2011 Jakkie has pursued expanding her knowledge of Manual Therapy by completing the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopedic Division’s Levels 1 and 2. She is also a certified Functional Dry Needling Provider.
Jakkie is dedicated to patient-centred care and works hard to individualize each client’s treatment to align with their specific goals. By implementing treatment plans that incorporate manual therapies, education, modalities and exercise prescription, Jakkie aims to maximize the healing process and restore function as quickly as possible.
When Jakkie isn’t working hard to help you maintain your physical function she can be found in spin class, out for a run, camping, skiing or two-stepping with her husband.
